One of our students lost her sister on Saturday.  Iehsa Copeland, who is in our 10th grade class and has been a student at Richards for 5 years, had a sister, who was a senior at a Douglasville High School, pass away on Saturday.  Please keep Iehsa and her family in your prayers.  Below is an address if you would like to send a gift or card to Iehsa.

Winter Formal  for 7th - 12th Grades will be held on DEC 5th 7:00pm - 11:00pm.  This is a Black and White Formal with a Maquerade theme.  Maquerade masks can be purchased online at the following web-site www.awnol.com/store/Masks/?source=overture  . We will need parents to help chaperion. If you can help with the planning, decorations or food, please let us know msmichelle@richardsacademy.com . The cost per student is $30.00. Students can purchase tickets form the Presidents of their class.  Please make all checks payable to the school.  Alumni are invited for FREE.

Our dinner theatre program will be held on November 20th at 6:30pm in the school gym.  This is a dinner program...... so we will be feeding you dinner and dessert!  Tickets cost $10.00.  We do have a limited number of seats available.  Please send in a check with the number for tickets you will need ASAP!

Toy Drive For Cobb County DFACS

The school will be collecting toys, clothing, etc for Cobb County DFACS.  Please send in your gift in a regular bag.  Do not wrap the gifts.  Please send in a gift that would be appropriate for a child your child's age. We will be collecting gifts thru December 4th. 

"Chick-fil-a" will be delivered on Wednesday this year!  Below is the form.  Please send in your form by Monday!

Angel Food Ministry Program

Food Ministry - November Orders being accepted now

What Is This?

  • Partnering with Angel Food Ministries (www.AngelFoodMinistries.com), Marietta Church of God is starting a food distribution ministry.
  • Angel Food Ministries provides boxes of food each month for $30 each (Senior/Convenience boxes for $28 each)
  • Each month's menu is different and consists of fresh, frozen and packaged food.  Angel Food is purchased from the nation's top food suppliers.  Providing quality, nutritious food at significant discounts on a regular basis is one practical way to give people a "hand up" during difficult times.  The cost for a box of Angel Food is $30.  There is no purchase limit for boxes of Angel Food.  There are no applications or qualifications necessary to purchase.

When Does it Start?

  • Order deadline to receive boxes in November is November 10, 2008
  • We weill distribute our first boxes of food Saturday, November 22, 2008

How Does This Work?

  • Review the monthly menu in the bulletin or online, www.angelfoodministries.com/menu_0811en.asp , and decide if you would like to order a box of food for you or someone else (or donate money to ease someone's burden that month).
  • Order a box of food and any specials you desire.
  • Pick up your box of food on the designated date/time

How Do I Order a box of food?

  • Choose form the online menu.  Please take your order form to the Marietta Church of God office with payment.
  • Payment is due at time of ordering.  Payment may be made with cash, check, food stamps or pay online using the donate button (please write in that it's for the Angel Food Ministry order you placed in the comment section). If paying online, please indicate the box you are ordering.

When Do I get my box of food?

  • You must pick up your ordered boxes of food on the monthly distribution day, which will be Saturday, November 22, 2008.
  • Pick up will be at Marietta Church of God.  Time and exact location of distribution is TBA.

Who Can Participate?

  • Anyone who needs their monthly grocery budget stretched.
  • Anyone who is in need of food.
