Representing the class of 2009! I am moved by the generosity of those who "know stuff," and that they have cared enough to share it with me. Working outside the public school system, I have the freedom to set my own standards of teaching. I take this responsibility seriously and have thought about it long and hard. The two-fold conclusion I have come to is really quite simple... 1) Love the kids like crazy! 2) Prepare them to face their first college math course with confidence and skill.
My wish list... In my classes we go through a lot of graph paper, no. 2 pencils, dry erase markers and candy. Yeah, we really need the candy ;)

What parents should know...
I keep an online gradebook for all of my classes, so that you and the students have access to current grades at all times.
I assign homework after every single class with very few exceptions. I do not accept late homework, nor do I offer extra-credit on an individual basis. I get kinda crazy when I notice a student has remembered to bring their cell phone to school, but forgotten their textbook, paper, pencil, notebook, homework assignment... You know what I mean?!?! I have plenty of time to help my students outside of class. Just ask. I am very proud to be a part of Michelle Richards' school and to work beside so many caring, dedicated and gifted teachers.
