Note to Parents

Remember that as a homeschool parent or guardian, YOU are ultimately responsible for your child's education.  Please stay on top of his or her homework for math class!  Your child will receive a complete year-long syllabus for this class, and you should check it each night to make sure your child is doing the homework assigned and is studying for upcoming tests and quizzes.  The syllabus for each class is also posted here on the website in case the hard copy is lost.  ALL homework and ALL quizzes and tests are listed, and graded tests are always sent home by the next class period.  Please check your child's quiz and test grades each day so you know how they are doing in this class.  Any tests or quizzes below a 75 need to be signed by a parent or guardian and returned the following class period.

Test can be corrected and returned NO LATER than the following class period for half points back.  For example, if a student missed 4 questions on a 25 question test, he/she would have an 84 since the questions are worth 4 points a piece.  Corrections are open book so that the students have an opportunity to go back and study the material again.  If the test is corrected and returned, the student would be awarded 2 points back for each correct answer, and could potentially get a 92 on that test instead of an 84.  ALL work must be shown in order to receive extra points, and no extra points will be awarded for true/false type questions.  Work should be done on a sheet of notebook paper stapled to the original test.  All answers should be numbered, and correct answers circled.

Geometry and Algebra II are high school math classes, and minimum passing grade for these is a 74.  If your child receives a lower grade average than that, he or she will be required to repeat the class over the summer (for a fee), or take the class again the following school year.  Completing ALL homework assignments is a MUST.  If your child arrives in class without having completed the entire homework assignment, you will be given a call by someone in the office, and your child will be required to stay after school that day and complete the homework.  Repetitive practice provided by homework is the best way to ensure each student retains the concepts taught in class.

Please let me know if you need anything else to help make each math class a success for your child!

“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD. The fruit of the womb is a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand
of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. 5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.” Psalm 127:3-5
