We completed a review together in class as well as pg 42, activity 2-17. If you were absent, you will be held responsible for your own review and the work completed. Turn in the paragraph Monday at test time.
You also will have to turn in your journals for week 4 Monday. I've collected week 3 today and will return them to you in Lit class on Thursday.

You took your nouns test and were given it back. Cole and Brandon need to have it signed and brought back to me on Monday. Since there was confusing regarding the noun review sheet you were to have completed for class today, you have the weekend to complete it and bring it back to me on Monday for a grade. Moriah gained bonus points for having it completed on time! YAY! Moriah!!
HW is to make corrections to the Verbs, Chp 3, pretest on a separate piece of paper. It is to be turned in on Monday.
Your journals will be given back to you tomorrow in Lit class since we didn't have class together on Monday this week.

Complete the review I handed out in class today. YES! You need to be able to define each item on the review. All questions for South America and definitions will be collected on Monday with your review for a grade. Chapter 7 -South America- test is Monday.
Always remember that your Current event and its summary are due on Wednesday!

In Lit: Finish week 3 activities & study for your quiz Tuesday. For lesson 4, you are writing 2 seperate paragraphs; both will be graded on the following: content, topic sentence, quote, closing sentence, and proper MLA formatting.
In Grammar complete the following activities: 2-2, 2-3, 2-6, 2-7, 2-10 in your books.

2-13, 2-14, 2-15 --YES! you need to redo the entire paragraph for 2-15. If you want to type it or put it on another piece of paper, go for it!
I also need you to email me so that I can send you the chp review for Chp 2, Nouns. It will be uploaded to the web site as well.
You will have a test over Chp 2 the next time we meet- Wednesday. I will also be collecting your journals on Wed.

We watched the true story of End of the Spear in class which covers the native life and missionary work in S. America. We WILL finish the last 20 min next week. You MUST follow the syllabus for what is due when you come in to class next week, for we will be taking our test over chp 7 very soon!
Remember: all of your chp work will be collected at the time of your test. Be sure to bring it all in!
NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY!! Don't come to class! :-)

**** PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU DO NEED TO CREATE THE PUBLISHED COPY OF YOUR BOOK JACKETS!!! YOU SPENT DAY ONE, TWO, AND THREE WORKING THROUGH THE WRITING PROCESS IN ORDER TO CREATE THEM.****
We spent a great deal of time talking about what it should look like. AND I showed you a detailed example of what is expected! Please do your best!
Day Four IS NOT the book jacket, but rather, it is creating the comic as directed in your text book.

All students need to show their parents Week One's Quiz. The following must bring their quizzes back to me on Tuesday with a parent signature: Hunter, Brianna, Isaiah, Zachary, Cierra, Nate.
Complete the paragraph we worked on in class today about either Eva or Week Two's story. It will be graded on the following: Well developed topic sentence including the title, author, and introduction to the paragraph. Integration of a relevant quote from the story. Well developed summary/closing sentence. It MUST BE TYPED IN MLA FORMAT. (See my webpage if you need details as to how to do that.)
Your Week Two work is due on Tuesday, & you will have a quiz over what was read/discussed this week.
ALWAYS BE SURE TO WRITE IN COMPLETE SENTNECES!!!

You have to complete corrections of your paragraph on "The Duster." It will be graded individually. Be sure to have it in beautiful format- MLA if typed, and no errors. (No, it isn't necessary to have it typed.) I will be looking for correct Topic/Intro sentences, a relevant quote from the story, and a thoroughly written closing sentence.
You also have Week Two's quiz on Tuesday. Week 2's work will be turned in.

I made a mistake on your literature syllabus! I wrote in for Thursday's homework each week to study for a quiz on Monday. I keep telling you all in class that I am old, and I make mistakes- this is proof! You don't have me for Lit class on Mondays!! Your quiz will be every Tuesday on the material we discussed in class the previous week. Please make adjustments to your syllabus.

Syllabus update: In finishing the work on pgs 1-10, complete the following:
Pg 4 exercise 1-3, read the info on Inverted Order, do the ODD only on pg 6, do exercise 1-6 on pg 9...all of the sentences!
Also, REMEMBER THAT YOUR JOURNALS ARE TO BE COMPLETED & TURNED IN NEXT WEEK! I WILL TAKE THEM UP ON WEDNESDAY (Be sure to have them with you in World Geo class!!) AND RETURN THEM TO YOU ON THURSDAY!

9th Grade- We went over A LOT in class today! I sure hope you understood everything! Since you didn't have questions, I'm assuming you are good!! :-D Do remember, you DO NOT have to do lessons 2 & 3 in lit. We will cover it when we next meet. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LETTER SIGNED AND ALL SUPPLIES FOR CLASS (quiz grades on both) THURSDAY!!!
7th & 8th Literature: Finish reading/highlighting vocabulary words in week one's reading. Also, be sure to complete lessons 2 & 3 IN COMPLETE SENTENCES! YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LETTER SIGNED AND ALL SUPPLIES FOR CLASS (quiz grades on both) THURSDAY!!! **You should also be working on your journals!
**Journals and looking at this blog needs to be a daily item. Get into the habit of doing both everyday so that you do not fall behind!

World Geo- Be sure to pay close attention to your syllabus! YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PARENT LETTER SIGNED AND BROUGHT INTO CLASS WEDNESDAY. YOU MUST HAVE ALL SUPPLIES WEDNESDAY. Both are worth a quiz grade. Any questions should be sent to me either by text, email, or if you must, call.
7th & 8th Grammar/Writing- YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PARENT LETTER SIGNED AND BROUGHT INTO CLASS WEDNESDAY. YOU MUST HAVE ALL SUPPLIES WEDNESDAY. (Both are worth a quiz grade! Pay close attention to your syllabus! Remember that you need to make corrections to your CHP 1 pretest on a separate piece of paper for class Wed! Also, you should be working on your journals every day for about 10-15 minutes. Don't complete everything in one sitting. That totally defeats the purpose of having a writing journal! Any questions should be sent to me either by text, email, or if you must, call.
